Tyler Perry - Madea Goes To Jail (2009)

Movie location then and now filming location from Madea Goes To Jail starring Tyler Perry.

The then and now photo above is from the famous parking lot scene from Madea Goes To Jail. In it, Madea takes revenge on a woman who steals her parking space (which, unbelievably, Madea was waiting patiently for!).

The movie location for this scene is a strip mall in Mableton, Georgia, just a short distance from the Tyler Perry Studios. The anchor store is no longer a K-Mart and the facade of the former K-Mart store seen in the first part of the scene has been changed to reflect the new tenant, but the part of the mall shown at the end of the scene in the then and now photo above is basically unchanged.

Laurel and Hardy - Love 'Em And Weep (1927)

Film location then and now Laurel and Hardy movie location Love Em And Weep filming location.

This Laurel and Hardy movie was made prior to the establishment of the two characters we normally associate with the team. The then and now photo above is from a scene early in the film in front of an apartment building on South Kenmore Avenue in Los Angeles. Built in 1926, the building has been well maintained through the decades and today appears exactly as it was when it was a film location for this Laurel and Hardy movie back in 1927.

The Little Rascals - Teacher's Pet (1930)

Movie locations then and now filming locations from The Little Rascals movie Teachers Pet.

This Little Rascals movie, Teacher's Pet, is the best film in the series. The plot is simple: The kids have a new teacher, Miss Crabtree, and they try to sabotage her first day. Things backfire when they discover that Miss Crabtree is just as sweet as their previous teacher, Miss McGillicuddy.

The then and now photo above shows Miss Crabtree dropping off Jackie Cooper (presumably) near the school. This filming location in 1930 at the intersection of Venice Blvd and La Cienega Blvd featured a large viaduct for the Pacific Electric Railway's Venice Short Line which ran down the middle of Venice Blvd all the way to Venice Beach. Back then, it was a very quick and efficient way to get to the beach from downtown Los Angeles. If you were to drive the same route today, it would take twice as long compared to 1930. So much for "progress."

The Taxi Boys - Bring 'Em Back A Wife (1933)

Movie location then and now filming location from The Taxi Boys movie Bring Em Back A Wife.

Most of you have probably never heard of The Taxi Boys series of short comedy films made in the early 1930s, unless you've done a "deep dive" on this website where several of their movies are covered. The films featured many of the supporting actors from the Laurel and Hardy films and the Little Rascals movies, along with the same background tunes. No coincidence, as these films were all made by the Hal Roach Studios!

The Taxi Boys films were notable not because they were particularly good (though some in the series were), but because they made extensive use of location filming all around the west side of Los Angeles. When viewing these films today, we are basically time traveling and seeing large parts of the area as they were prior to being developed into the housing developments and strip malls that we see in these parts of Los Angeles today.

The then and now film location photo above shows the Culver Hotel in downtown Culver City, California. Back in 1933, it was surrounded by busy streets. The street on the east side of the hotel (Washington Blvd) has been rerouted and in its place today is a pedestrian mall.

You can view all the then and now filming location photos from this movie on Page 2 of the Other Comedy Movies Filming Locations Photo Galleries by clicking here if you've made a small donation to the site and are a current member.

The Stranglers - Golden Brown (Music Video) (1982)

The Stranglers - Golden Brown (Music Video) (1982)

The Stranglers - Golden Brown (Music Video) (1982)

Filming location then and now from the music video Godlen Brown by The Stranglers.

Punk rock band The Stranglers came up with a most UN-punk song in "Golden Brown" which prominently features a harpsichord!

For the music video, Leighton House in London was chosen as the filming location, and more specifically the Arab Hall (read more about this remarkable room by clicking here). The music video cuts between footage shot at Leighton House and stock footage filmed in Egypt and the Middle East.

When this music video was released in 1982, another English band - Spandau Ballet - likely took notice and used the Arab Hall at Leighton House as the filming location for the music video for their song "Gold" in 1983. You can view the filming locations video documentary for "Gold" in the Music Video Filming Locations Videos section of the site by clicking here. The Little Rascals - The First Seven Years (1930)

The Stranglers - Golden Brown (Music Video) (1982)

The Stranglers - Golden Brown (Music Video) (1982)

Filming location then and now The Little Rascals movie The First Seven Years film location.

The Little Rascals movie The First Seven Years is another of the early "talkie" films in the series, with most of the movie filmed outdoors. This time, the filming location was the Palms neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Back in 1930 when this movie was made, the Palms had a very small town look about it. Single family homes with beautiful lawns lined the tree-lined streets. Then, in the 1950s, the City of Los Angeles rezoned the Palms neighborhood for "multi-family units" which meant that one by one, the beautiful homes dating back to the early 1900s were demolished and in their place, architecturally uninspiring apartment buildings took their place.

The then and now filming location photo above shows Mary Ann on the front lawn of 3415 Mentone Avenue. Today, the lawn has been paved over as part of the parking lot for the apartment building (built in 1968) that now occupies the site. The tree seen in this movie was cut down in the 1970s. The small patch of grass visible near the center of the photo is where the tree used to stand.

Laurel and Hardy - Pack Up Your Troubles (1932)

Laurel and Hardy - Pack Up Your Troubles (1932)

Filming location then and now Laurel and Hardy movie location from 1932 film Pack Up Your Troubles.

This Laurel and Hardy movie location is the Will Rogers Memorial Park in Beverly Hills.

The park was a popular filming location in the silent movie era and also appeared in TV series and contemporary films like 2016's La La Land (which will be covered here on the site in the future). Charlie Chaplin's 1921 movie The Idle Class filmed here - you can see it in the then and now documentary video for this film in the Buster Keaton / Harold Lloyd / Charlie Chaplin Movie Locations Videos section of the site by clicking here.

Charley Chase - His Wooden Wedding (1925)

Laurel and Hardy - Pack Up Your Troubles (1932)

Laurel and Hardy - Pack Up Your Troubles (1932)

Movie location then and now filming location Charley Chase film His Wooden Wedding.

Charley Chase starred in a very popular series of short comedy films in the 1920s and 1930s, many of them filmed in the downtown core of Culver City, California.

In this filming location then and now scene from the movie, the camera is on the Culver Blvd side of the historic Culver Hotel, looking west. The hotel - which is now over 100 years old - has been beautifully restored and is exactly as it was when this movie was filmed in 1925.

What isn't the same is Culver Blvd. In the top photo, the poles visible held the wires used by the Pacific Electric Railway which at the time ran right down the middle of Culver Blvd. In those days,  Culver City residents could hop on a train to the beach or east to downtown Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, the network of Pacific Electric Railway lines were abandoned in the 1950s. The tracks running down the middle of Culver Blvd were still in place (though mostly covered over by asphalt) as late as the 1980s. We catch a glimpse of them in the 1977 episode Moving Violation of the TV series CHiPs which you can see on Page 2 of the TV Series Filming Locations Photo Galleries by clicking here.

The Little Rascals - Hi'-Neighbor! (1934)

Los Angeles filming location then and now from The Three Stooges movie Hoi Polloi movie location.

The Three Stooges are at work collecting trash (which appears to consist mainly of noisy cans!). A group of professors walking by notice the Stooges and their "lower class" behavior and offer to turn the Stooges into perfect gentlemen.

The early scenes of this Three Stooges movie were filmed on North Larchmont Blvd in Los Angeles on the 100 block. Most of the buildings seen in this then and now photo comparison still stand today. The major exception being the movie theater that used to be a 149 N. Larchmont. It was demolished in 1959. The Hollywood(land) sign is also visible on the mountain in the distance.

Laurel and Hardy - Their Purple Moment (1928)

Laurel and Hardy filming location then and now from the 1928 movie Their Purple Moment.

The film location used in this Laurel and Hardy movie is in the West Adams district of Los Angeles in front of 1750 West 22nd Street. The home seen in the film still stands today and is now over 100 years old (built in 1923).

When the I-10 Santa Monica Freeway was built in the 1960s, the freeway planners decided to build directly across the street from this house. As a result, this historic film location came within 50 feet of being buried under the I-10 freeway. Fortunately, this entire block of beautiful old homes - some built as early as 1905 - are still here today.

Charley Chase - Midsummer Mush (1933)

Los Angeles movie location then and now from the 1933 Charley Chase film Midsummer Mush.

Scoutmaster Charley Chase is taking his troop out on a hike into the country to Idyllwild but gets lost on the way. He asks a traffic cop for directions during which time he causes a massive traffic jam at the corner of Motor Avenue and Tabor Street in the Palms neighborhood of Los Angeles.

This intersection was very popular with filmmakers, having appeared in several  Our Gang / The Little Rascals movies in the 1920s, several other Charley Chase movies of the early and mid-1930s and even in a Charlie's Angels episode!

Unfortunately, as is too often the case in Los Angeles, no building stands forever even if it is a historic movie location. This sequence of photos shows us the commercial building that occupied the northeast corner of Motor and Tabor as it was in 1933, its last days in 2017, the site after the building had been demolished, and the modern apartment building that occupies the site today.

The Little Rascals - Canned Fishing (1938)

Filming location then and now The Little Rascals movie Hi Neighbor comparing 1938 and today.

Spanky and Alfalfa have a plan to skip school and go fishing, but instead they have to stay home and look after Spanky's little brother Junior.

This Little Rascals movie was one of the last made at the Hal Roach Studios before production moved to MGM Studios. The film crew went out in the local neighborhood just a few blocks from the studio and filmed a good chunk of this movie at a real home's backyard and in the alley next to that home. The house is still there today (though an addition was added at some point which takes up some of the backyard) and the alley survives as well. It even looks like the original 3 car garage seen in this then and now filming location photo comparison is still there.

Filming location then and now Laurel and Hardy movie location Hog Wild film location.

Mr. Hardy is installing a radio antenna on the roof (Mrs. Hardy wants to listen in on Japan!). Things are going well... until Mr. Laurel stops by to "help."

The first of the movie locations used in the filming of this Laurel and Hardy movie was a newly built residential neighborhood in Culver City, California. Mr. Hardy's "house" though was just a set, built on a vacant lot at 4175 Madison Avenue. The runaway car scenes were filmed on Washington Blvd in downtown Culver City and the film wraps up on the campus of the University of Southern California near downtown Los Angeles.

Star Trek - Arena (1967)

Filming location then and now from the Star Trek TV episode Arena comparing 1967 and today.

This Season 1 episode finds the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise engaged in a battle with an alien race called The Gorn. Unfortunately, the battle is taking place in an area of space inhabited by beings who despise violence. They beam Captain Kirk and The Gorn Captain to a desolate planet where they can settle their differences directly in a fight to the death.

The desolate planet scenes were filmed about a 45 minute drive north of downtown Los Angeles at the iconic Vaszquez Rocks. A very popular location not only for several Star Trek productions (Voyager, Picard and more), but also westerns and serials going back to the 1930s (and likely before).

There are currently 155 other TV series filming locations then and now photos in the TV Series Filming Locations Photo Gallery  You can see them by clicking here.

Charley Chase - Fast Work (1930)

Filming location then and now Charley Chase movie Fast Work comparing 1930 and today. Los Angeles.

Charley meets a beautiful woman (June Marlowe, best known as "Miss Crabtree" from The Little Rascals / Our Gang movies) but she won't go on a date with him until he gets permission from her father. Charley ends up meeting a lunatic who he mistakes for the woman's father and things start to get crazy!

The then and now filming location photo above shows Charley literally bumping into the lunatic at the corner of Whitley Avenue and Franklin Avenue in Los Angeles. The building, built in 1924, looked great in the movie and still looks good today as you can see. You can see all the then and now filming location photos from this movie are on Page 2 of the Charley Chase Filming Locations Photo Gallery by clicking here and scrolling down the page.

The Three Stooges - Calling All Curs (1939)

Filming location then and now The Three Stooges movie Calling All Curs comparing 1939 and today.

The Three Stooges usually filmed their comedy short movies within the confines of the Columbia Pictures Studios lot located on the corner of Sunset and Gower in Hollywood. When an outdoor location was called for, most times they would head over to the Columbia Pictures "ranch" in the San Fernando Valley.

But sometimes, they would actually go out on the streets of Los Angeles and film scenes on location. This film - CALLING ALL CURS - includes a scene that was filmed about a half mile from the studio, just east of today's 101 freeway.

The building seen in the movie is still there, the sidewalk may very well be the same and the trees captured on film in 1939 are most definitely the same as you can see in the movie location then and now photo comparison above.

Laurel and Hardy - Men O' War (1929)

Filming location then and now Laurel and Hardy movie Men O War comparing 1929 and today. Hollenbeck.

In 1929 at the dawn of the "talking pictures" era, most films were being made indoors on sound stages. The staff at the Hal Roach Studios though bucked the practice and bravely ventured out on location with their newfangled sound recording equipment and made quite a few films in 1929 on location. The Little Rascals movie RAILROADIN' is an excellent example.

This 1929 Laurel and Hardy movie, MEN O' WAR, is another great example - filmed almost entirely outdoors and on location at a (then) very beautiful park in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The Little Rascals - Cat, Dog & Co. (1929)

The Little Rascals - Cat, Dog & Co. (1929)

Filming location then and now The Little Rascals movie Cat Dog and Co comparing 1930 and today.

The Little Rascals (Our Gang) movies were frequently shot outdoors on location, and frequently used the SAME movie locations. The Palms neighborhood of Los Angeles was an often used film location for The Little Rascals series starting with the very first film (OUR GANG in 1922).

By using the same filming locations through the years 1922 - 1932, the film makers have left us with an amazing time capsule to explore this neighborhood when it had a very "small town" look and feel.

Today, while the streets and alleys are all in the same places - and even a few trees that were captured on film 90+ years ago are still standing - only a few of the buildings seen in the films are still around.

To see all of these changes and learn the exact locations of each of the movie locations used in this film, go to Page 4 in The Little Rascals Filming Locations Photo Gallery section of the site.  If you have made a small donation to the site and are currently a member, just click here and scroll down the page a bit to view these fascinating then and now photos.

The Little Rascals - Cat, Dog & Co. (1929)

The Little Rascals - Cat, Dog & Co. (1929)

Filming location then and now Charley Chase movie All West comparing 1924 and today. Culver City.

The bulk of this Charley Chase comedy short was filmed in one of the oldest residential neighborhoods in Culver City, California. At the time (1924), the streets had been recently paved and the water, sewer and electric utilities were in place waiting for the lots to be sold and the homes to be built.

During the filming, a few homes had already been built and we can see several others under construction. Many of these homes still stand today.

The movie location then and now photo comparison above dramatically illustrates how the neighborhood has evolved over the last 100 years.

Nat Carr - Traffic Tangle (1930) - Part 1

Movie location then and now filming location Traffic Tangle 1930 vs today. Culver City history.

This film is an early Pathe "talkie" comedy short that has a very basic premise: A man buys a new car and tries to take his family out for a drive but instead ends up causing a huge traffic jam. The local traffic cop is not amused.

Filmed almost entirely on location, the movie location for the film's traffic jam sequences was Main Street and Culver Blvd in Culver City. This was a very popular film location for comedies made in the 1920s and early 1930s and is easily recognized in several Laurel and Hardy films, plus a few of The Little Rascal movies. This intersection was also extensively used once again by TV series in the 1970s/80s such as Hunter, Charlie's Angels and Starsky and Hutch. Each of these series is covered on the website here in the TV Series Filming Locations Photo Gallery

Nat Carr - Traffic Tangle (1930) - Part 2

Movie location then and now filming location Culver City 1930 and today Traffic Tangle.

The second half of the film takes place at the home of the traffic cop, just a few blocks from the movie location of the traffic jam. The house seen in the film was just a few years old at the time this movie was made and today it appears virtually unchanged, as you can see in this movie location then and now photo comparison above.

Charlie's Angels - Angels On The Street (1979)

TV filming location Charlies Angels then and now film location in Culver City California.

This first then and now filming location photo comparison shows us the Main Street entrance to the old Adams Hotel. The view is looking towards Washington Blvd with 9412 Washington Blvd's "Mark The Carpetbagger" seen in the background. Both of these buildings date back to the earliest days of Culver City and have appeared in dozens and dozens of movie and TV episodes from the 1920s through the late 1980s.

Sadly, everything on the block where the Adams Hotel was situated was demolished in the late 1980s. A parking lot occupied the entire block until the 2010s when the massive Culver Steps development was built.

The "Mark The Carpetbagger" building at 9412 Washington Blvd has fared much better over the past 100 years. While the front has been extensively remodeled, it is in fact the same building that appears in several of the silent films of Laurel and Hardy, The Little Rascals and many other comedies made in the 1920s, along with several episodes of CHiPs and the 1980s TV series Hunter.

A similar view of 9412 Washington Blvd from the Main Street entrance of the Adams Hotel. The top photo is from the 1924 Little Rascals (Our Gang)  film THE SUN DOWN LIMITED (which also has a movie locations then and now video documentary and then and now photo gallery on this site).

When this Charlie's Angels episode was filmed in 1979, the front of 9412 Washington Blvd was pretty much the same as it was in 1924, unlike today where most of the front of the building is walled off.

TV series filming location Charlies Angels then and now film location in Culver City California.

In the top photo, across the street is the Washington Blvd side of the Adams Hotel. The view is looking northeast from in front of 9412 Washington Blvd.

Today, the Culver Steps development occupies the entire block and Washington Blvd is now routed one block north onto Culver Blvd as it travels through downtown Culver City, making this filming location quite different looking today than it was in 1979.

Laurel and Hardy meet Charlie's Angels!

This is the Culver Blvd side of the Adams Hotel, looking west down Culver Blvd, 1928 vs 1979. The Culver Hotel is visible down the street.

The Adams Hotel was demolished (along with the entire block) back in the 1990s and today the massive Culver Steps development occupies the site.

The Washington Blvd side of the Culver Hotel is clearly visible in the top photo.

Now that the "urban renewal" of the area is complete, this section of Washington Blvd is now part of the pedestrian mall that starts up at Ince Blvd and extends down to the "X" where Washington and Culver Blvd separate again as they head west.

Charlies Angels TV show filming location then and now in Culver City California.

Two features from the earliest days of Culver City are seen in both of these photos. The first is Media Park (the group of trees at top left) and the second - which is the building way in the background - is the old Pacific Electric Railway Ivy sub-station (now home of "The Actor's Gang") at 9070 Venice Blvd.

If you look closely at the top photo, you can see cars parked in the MIDDLE of Culver Blvd. That parking area used to be the right of way of the Pacific Electric Railway tracks that ran down the middle of Culver Blvd.

Madonna - Borderline (1984)

Music video filming location then and now film location movie location Madonna song Borderline.

The filming location then and now photo above shows us a part of Los Angeles that in some ways hasn't changed very much at all since Madonna filmed this music video in February of 1984.

The approach to the East 4th Street Bridge over the Los Angeles river running next to South Santa Fe Avenue is still there as is the large building in the background. But the neighborhood (now called the Arts District) has undergone a rebirth and is alive with galleries, cafes and the first high rise "luxury apartments" building has just gone up directly in back of where I stood when I took the "now" photo.

Laurel and Hardy - Perfect Day (1929)

Movie location then and now Laurel and Hardy film location Perfect Day filming location.

It's rare that an ordinary home that appeared in a movie made 95 years ago in Los Angeles survives today, let alone looks almost exactly as it did in the film. The movie location then and now photo above shows just such a house!

The filming location is on Vera Avenue on the west side of Los Angeles and remarkably, many of the homes on this street that date back to the 1920s are still standing and in great shape. Unlike many neighborhoods in Los Angeles that fell victim to the building of the Santa Monica I-10 Freeway in the 1960s, this particular block was spared. The freeway is just about 100 feet to the left.

The Little Rascals - Bear Shooters (1930)

Film location then and now The Little Rascals movie location filming location Bear Shooters 1930.

Here's a great movie location then and now photo comparison illustrating how the west side of Los Angeles has changed in the past 90+ years.

Back in 1930, this neighborhood was primarily single-family homes, with beautiful lawns, trees and shrubs in abundance. Alleys like the one shown above were still unpaved.

This all changed in the late 1950s when the City of Los Angeles rezoned the area for multiple unit dwellings which meant the end of a beautiful neighborhood and resulted in the extremely high-density development we see today with literally every inch of ground paved over.

Emergency! - Nagging Suspicion (1974)

Filming location then and now movie location Emergency TV series from 1970s TV show film location.

Fans of 1970s TV will recognize this filming location as the Fire Station for "Squad 51" from the TV series Emergency!

Practically nothing has changed at this location over the past 50 years. The flagpole is in the same spot, the little wall on the left side of the property is the same as is the station building itself.

The Twilight Zone - You Drive (1964)

Filming location then and now film location from The Twilight Zone TV series show filming location.

 From the classic TV series.

A man driving home from work is involved in a hit and run accident and attempts to conceal the crime. While the man has no conscience, his car does and it proceeds to stalk him!

The residential neighborhood right across the street from the MGM studios in Culver City, California is where most of the filming for this episode took place. The initial hit and run scene's filming location (shown above) was Carlson Park, while the car "stalking" scenes were filmed a few blocks away. This particular part of Culver City is largely unchanged since this episode was filmed in late 1963.

Laurel and Hardy - Another Fine Mess (1930)

Film location then and now Laurel and Hardy movie location filming location Another Fine Mess.

While being chased by a cop, Laurel and Hardy hide in an unoccupied mansion. Unfortunately a couple show up looking to rent the place. Mr. Laurel impersonates the butler (AND the maid!) and Mr. Hardy assumes the identity of the owner, Colonel Buckshot.

The photo above shows Stan Laurel as the Butler greeting the couple who has come to rent the house (Thelma Todd and Charles K. Gerrard). This is the entrance to the historic mansion at 3500 West Adams Blvd in the West Adams Historic District of Los Angeles. The mansion was built in 1910 and miraculously is not only standing today, but in great condition and exactly as it appears in the film.

The Little Rascals - Pups Is Pups (1930)

Film location then and now The Little Rascals movie location filming location Pups Is Pups.

In this film, we get great views of the industrial side of Downtown Los Angeles adjacent to the Los Angeles River as Wheezer searches for his lost pups.

Most of the area has been transformed into much less gritty-looking light industrial uses today, though as you can see in the photo above, one of the buildings seen in the film at 749 Turner Street (today's Temple Street) is largely unchanged.

Max Davidson - Dumb Daddies (1928)

Filming location then and now Max Davidson movie location film location Dumb Daddies 1928 film.

Max mistakenly believes his son has murdered a woman. But in reality, his son was rehearsing for a play with a mannequin. Finished with the rehearsal, the son puts the mannequin in a sack. Max takes the sack and heads out to find a place to "hide the body."

In the then and now filming location photo above, Max is in front of 3830 Main Street in downtown Culver City, California. Main Street was a very popular filming location in the 1920s and early 1930s and if you walk down Main Street today, every building and alley that is seen in the film still stands today.

The Little Rascals - Bouncing Babies (1929)

The Little Rascals movie locations then and now film locations photo. Bouncing Babies 1929.

From the scene where young Wheezer takes his newborn baby brother back to the hospital to trade him for a goat! This filming location then and now comparison photo looks north up Motor Avenue at Tabor Street in the Palms neighborhood of Los Angeles. In the 95 years since this film was made, there have been massive changes to this location.

The Little Rascals - Cat, Dog and Company (1929)

The Little Rascals movie locations then and now film locations photo. Old Hollywood film locations.

In this film, The Little Rascals are racing their dog-powered go-carts but a chance encounter with a woman from the Be Kind To Animals Society convinces them to abandon their go-carts and become animal activists!

The two photos above show us Motor Avenue in The Palms neighborhood of Los Angeles. A few of the buildings seen in this 1929 film still survive, however the house appearing directly in back of Joe was a casualty when the I-10 Santa Monica Freeway was built in the early 1960s. It's unfortunate that the planners chose that exact spot to build the highway, as that house appeared in the background of dozens of films in the 1920s and 1930s and would be fascinating to see today.

The Three Stooges - False Alarms (1936)

The Three Stooges movie locations then and now filming locations. Old Hollywood film locations.

The Three Stooges are working in a fire house and, predictably, disaster ensues!

The two photos above are from North Larchmont Blvd in Los Angeles and show us that both the building behind Curly (built in 1925) and the vacant lot are unchanged. A rarity in Los Angeles.

Starsky and Hutch - Long Walk Down A Short Dirt Road (1977)

Starsky and Hutch TV series filming locations then and now film location movie location TV show.

Starsky and Hutch help a country music singer being stalked by a psychopath.

In this particular scene, Starsky and Hutch are trying to get some information from an informant (Scatman Crothers!). The two photos above show how drastically the block opposite The Culver Hotel in downtown Culver City has changed. The building on the right (built in 1921) survives to this day and is easily recognizable. However the entire block in the background has been demolished and replaced with the massive Culver Steps development.

Will Rogers - Don't Park There! (1924)

Downtown Los Angeles filming location then and now. Movie location from 1924 Will Rogers film.

There have been many changes in the past 100 years in Los Angeles. But the southwest corner of South Spring Street and West 7th Street in Downtown Los Angeles is remarkably unchanged. The building closest to the camera is 210 West 7th Street, built in 1913.

Spandau Ballet music video filming location then and now at Leighton House in London film location.

Next time you are in London, England, stop by the Leighton House museum, the filming location where Spandau Ballet shot most of the music video for their song "Gold." As you can see in the then and now photo comparison above, it's a remarkable place - pretty much as it was in 1983.

Charlie Chaplin - By The Sea (1915)

Charlie Chaplin movie location. Filming location then and now. Santa Monica Palisades Park.
