Early in Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo there's a scene featuring over 100 dancers, reminiscent of those classic Hollywood musical dance numbers. But instead of being filmed on a soundstage or studio backlot, this part of the dance scene filmed on location in a real-world neighborhood in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.
In the filming location then and now photo above, the wide-angle shot of all the dancers gives us a great view of the 2700 block of Guirado Street, looking east up the hill.

The group dance scene moves on to the neighborhood park. Hollenbeck Park - also in Boyle Heights - is the filming location for the second half of the neighborhood dance scene.
Hollenbeck Park has a long history as a filming location, going back to movies in the 1920s including the classic Laurel and Hardy movie Men O'War in 1929. Take a look at the park as it was a century ago here:

In the filming location then and now photo above, we get a look at the classic art deco bandshell, built in 1931. See page 185 of this Los Angeles City Planning Department document for more on the bandshell.

We move from the historic art deco bandshell in Hollenbeck Park, to another Los Angeles landmark: The Lorena Street Bridge.
Construction on this bridge started in 1928 and wrapped up a year later. Rather than create a drab, functional bridge, the Lorena Street Bridge was a part of the Beautify LA policy of the time. Today, the bridge is listed as Los Angeles Historic-Cultural monument number 265.
In the filming location then and now photo above, we get a close-up view of some of the arches supporting the bridge.

The plot of the movie revolves around the neighborhood Community Center, which is being threatened by developers. The goal is to raise enough money to purchase the center and secure its future.
The real-life Casa del Mexicano community center at 2900 Calle Pedro Infante in Boyle Heights was the filming location chosen and it appears prominently in the final scene of Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.
In the filming location then and now photo above, this 1914 building has been painted in bright colors specifically for the filming of the movie, and today remains structurally the same as when it was captured on film in 1984.

Visiting this filming location today is like stepping back in time to 1984 when this scene from Breakin' was filmed. AND, it's like stepping back in time to the mid-1920s when each of the buildings captured on film in this scene were built.
In the filming location then and now photo above, we see the northeast corner of N. Heliotrope Drive looking across Melrose Avenue. Each of the buildings seen in Breakin' in this scene in 1984 is still standing today.
